New TK/Kinder Building Grand Opening Celebration & Walk-Through
Tuesday, August 18 • 3:00-3:30 PM

Mark your calendar for the Grand Opening Celebration and Walk-Through for our new TK/Kindergarten building and Preschool Playground! Comments from Superintendent Frank, Woodside School Board trustees, Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten teachers. All attendees will have an opportunity to walk through the new 5-classroom building and view the new Preschool playground after the ceremony.

Measure E successfully passed on March 5, 2024, authorizing the Woodside Elementary School District to issue $36 million in bonds. The initiative achieved the required 55% supermajority voter approval to fund critical infrastructure repairs, campus modernizations, and safety improvements. The bond proceeds strictly address aging facilities and compliance needs at Woodside Elementary School:
  • Creek Stabilization: Repairing and stabilizing significant hillside erosion at the back of the campus caused by severe winter rains and flooding. (Summer 2027)
  • Infrastructure Upgrades: Fixing leaking roofs and replacing outdated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. (Summers 2026 & 2027)
  • Classroom Modernization: Updating older learning spaces to meet modern educational standards and replacing/modernizing kindergarten and transitional kindergarten (TK) facilities to accommodate expanding state enrollment mandates.
  • Clean Energy: Installing solar panels and backup batteries to maintain school operations during local power shutdowns.
  • Replacing natural grass and artificial turf fields & upgrading all 3 playgrounds

2026-27 School Year — Returning & New Student Online Registration
All new and returning families received an email on Friday, May 1 for online student registration for the 2026-27 school year. For registration, we continue to include district address verification and all documents should be uploaded within the registration form. Only one student in the family will need to complete the address  verification form but all children in the families' registrations will not be complete until we receive the documents. If you have questions or believe you didn't received this email, please contact Elvira. Thank you.

Immunizations: All incoming 1st and 7th grade students must have their immunization forms updated, as it is a requirement to complete 7th grade registration. Incoming 7th graders must submit their TDAP immunization information within the registration form.

Not returning? If your child is NOT planning to return to WES next year, please notify Elvira directly in writing, including the student's name, entering grade in the fall, and the new school they will be attending. If unsure of the new school, please indicate whether attending a private or public school. If moving and no new school information is known, please indicate the city/state the family will be moving to.

No Dogs on Campus
Please do not bring your dogs to campus at ANYTIME — including after-school sports teams/clubs using the WES field, weekends and summer break. This is a school policy and large signs are posted at the entrances to campus. We have had a significant problem with dog waste on our fields and campus. It is also important to provide a clean and safe environment for our students, especially those with allergies and animal fears. Please use our beautiful Woodside trails to walk your dogs. More information HERE

No E-Bikes & E-Scooters On Campus
This is a reminder that e-bikes, e-scooters or any electric vehicles are NOT allowed on the school campus AT ANY TIME. Have questions? We encourage families to attend the  WES Admin Talks on Tuesday, Sept. 2 evening at 6pm in the school library regarding E-bike education and safety. Info HERE
